Fort Hays State University

The Fort Hays State University (also FHSU is called) any State University in Hays in the US state of Kansas . There are currently around 9,500 students enrolled. Every year at the beginning of the semester, an Oktoberfest is celebrated at the university, in memory of the many Volga German immigrants in Ellis County . The Sternberg Museum of Natural History is part of the university.

history

The college was founded in 1902 as a branch of Kansas State Normal , now Emporia State University .

Sports

Fort Hays State University's sports teams are the Tigers . The college is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
