Fort Naiams , actually ǁNai-Ams ( German also ǁNai-Ams-Schanze , Afrikaans ǁNai-Ams Skans , English ǁNai-Ams Fortification ) is a ruin of a military fortress near the Namibian town of Seeheim . It was built in 1898 by the German Schutztruppe and served as a defense against Nama raids and to protect the nearby waterhole. The graves of two Schutztruppe soldiers are right next to the fort and the hill is 400 meters from the B4 national road.
Fort Naiams is a National Monument in Namibia .
