Fort Polk is a US Army military base . The base is in the state of Louisiana near the city of Leesville . The base was established in 1941 and named after Leonidas Polk , a bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America and later general in the Confederate Army in the Civil War . In 2008 around 11,000 soldiers were stationed at Fort Polk.
Fort Polk is the branches of the armed force cross- training and training center Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC).
