Joint Readiness Training Center
The Joint Readiness Training Center ( JRTC ) in Fort Polk in the US state of Louisiana is the cross- armed training center of the US Army .
It is one of the few major military training areas in the United States that is not a desert area . All types of infantry fighting can be trained here (including house-to-house fighting ). The 1st Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment serves as the opposing force .
history
From 1987 to 1993 the Joint Readiness Training Center was located in Fort Chaffee , Arkansas .
