Fort Tryon Park
The Fort Tryon Park is a public park in the north of Manhattan . It has a total area of 27 hectares . It was named after the British governor William Tryon . Within the park is the the Metropolitan Museum of Art belonging Museum The Cloisters .
The park has been named a Landscape Monument by the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission . Together with The Cloisters it was also in that of the 1,978 government -run National Register of Historic Places added.
