The Progressive Party (Russian Партия Прогресса , Partija progressa ), renamed Russia of the Future (Russian Россия будущего) on May 19 , 2018 , is a political party in Russia around the journalist Alexei Navalny, who is critical of the government . It is no longer registered as a party at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation since April 28, 2015.

history

On December 15, 2012 it was founded as the People's Alliance ( Народный Альянс ) party . Twice the application for registration as a party was rejected by the Ministry of Justice. The second attempt failed because the professional party founder Andrei Bogdanov had his own party called Home Country ( Rodnaja strana ) renamed the People's Alliance a few days before the intended registration .

At an extraordinary party congress on February 8, 2014, the party decided to rename itself the Progress Party . On February 25, 2014, she finally received official registration as a party with the Ministry of Justice. Since she was unable to meet certain requirements, her registration was withdrawn on April 28, 2015 after lengthy disputes.

Since then, it has no longer been able to publicly appear as a party and run for elections. A planned electoral alliance with the opposition parties Jabloko and PARNAS did not materialize for the 2016 Duma elections .

Members

In addition to the chairman Alexei Navalny, Georgi Alburow, Leonid Volkov, Vladimir Ashurkov and Wladislaw Naganow as well as Lyubow Sobol are also represented in the party's presidium .
