The Forum Gun Law e. V. (FWR) is a German association representing the interests of legal gun owners represent .
Lobbying
The association has only been registered as a lobby group in the directory of the German Bundestag since 2009 .
Internationally, the association with BDMP , NRA , SAAMI u. a. Founding member of the World Forum on the Future of Sport Shooting Activities (WFSA), which is invited to all UN small arms conferences as an NGO with advisory status.
The association tries to change the legal basis by lobbying the legislature and to prevent new restrictions and tightening for legal gun owners. In connection with the amendment to the gun law in 2004, the association was invited to hearings at the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

More than 30,000 individual members from various associations and groups support the work of the Forum Waffenrecht as sustaining members.
criticism
In 2007, a business relationship between two management members of the Forum Waffenrecht became known to a provider of weapon blocking systems. With regard to the introduction of blocking systems for inherited weapons, which was decided by the legislator in 2002, this conflict of interest with the aims of the FWR led to corresponding articles in the specialist press and the resignation of sponsoring members.
