Fotoforum ( proper spelling fotoforum ) is a magazine for photography and presentation aimed at photo amateurs. In six editions per year, Praktiker provides information and tips on all aspects of photography and photo technology.
history
The magazine "fotoforum" was founded in 1993 as "slide magazine" by publisher and editor-in-chief Martin Breutmann ( DGPh ). At that time the magazine dealt primarily with slide photography and projection. Over the years there has been a thematic expansion to include general photography subjects, which has been expressed in the name of "fotoforum" since 2000. The magazine is published by the Fotoforum publishing house in Münster .
Content & topics
In the magazine, the focus of the information concept is on the image, the route to a successful photo and the presentation. Regular market overviews and practical tests are just as much a part of the range of topics as information about festivals, workshops, photo competitions, stock exchanges and other events.

Photo forum academy
The fotoforum publishing house has been operating the “fotoforum academy” since 2008. It accompanies its participants with more than 100 offers annually to get started with photography and presentation, to discover new perspectives and to expand existing knowledge in leisure and work.
Fotoforum Award
With prize money of over € 20,000 (2015), the “fotoforum Award” is one of the most highly endowed photo competitions in German-speaking countries. A jury of experts meets for each issue of the magazine fotoforum to evaluate the submitted work on the different award topics. The winning photos will be published in the magazine and online.
Photo forum community
Since the end of 2011, the magazine has also offered an online community on its website, the “fotoforum Community”. There, subscribers and other users can upload their own pictures, view and comment on pictures of other users and discuss photographic topics in the text forums.
Circulation statistics
In the fourth quarter of 2013, the average circulation according to IVW was 9,141 copies. That is 174 copies per issue more than in the same quarter of the previous year. The number of subscribers rose within one year by 420 subscribers to an average of 7,751 per issue (+ 5.42%); around 84.79% of readers thus subscribed to the magazine.
