Fotuhaʻa (also: Footooha , Fotoua , Foutoua ) is a small island in the north of the Haʻapai archipelago in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .

geography

The Motu is located on the northwestern edge of the archipelago, along with the much smaller Fatumanongi . The closest island is Niniva to the east. The closest to the west is Kao Island . The Ava Tauoifi Strait runs to the north .

climate

The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Ha'apai group, Fotuha'a is occasionally hit by cyclones .
