Foundation for Research on Women's Health, Productivity and the Environment

The Foundation for Research on Women's Health, Productivity and the Environment (BAFROW) ( German  foundation for research on women's health, productivity and the environment ) is a non-governmental organization in the West African state of Gambia . The headquarters of the organization is in Banjul .

BAFROW was founded in 1991. One of the co-founders was Saffiatou Singhateh .

The organization informs and advises women on questions about sexual health and carries out check-ups. A major goal of a project started in 1996 is to reduce female genital cutting .

Fatou Waggeh has been director of the foundation since at least 1999 (as of June 2019) . The author Sally Singhateh had worked for the organization until 2009.
