Foundland is the volcanic mountain range in the southeast of the island state of Dominica . Foundland only reaches an altitude of 860  m , but it is the mountain that dominates the landscape in the extreme southeast of the country.

geography

The mountain is located in the extreme southeast of the country and is partially bordered in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park . The most important settlements in the area are Delicés , Petite Savane and Geneva . Numerous rivers arise in its rugged slopes and the foothills, some of which reach close to the coast. Among other things, the Geneva River and its headwaters, the Savane River and the tributaries of the Rivière Blanche (Dominica) originate in Foundland. The foothills of the mountain often have their own names if they are close to the coast: Morne Paix Bouche ( , 477  m ), Morne Toupie ( ), Fabre Hill ( , 240  m ), Grand Fond Valley ( , 720  m ).
