geography

The Geneva River rises in the northwestern slope of Foundland and runs steeply to the west until it merges in the valley with the Perdu Temps River , which itself rises in the Geneva area of the Morne Watt . The widely diversified catchment area also receives tributaries from Foundland , Morne John , Morne Anglais (Couliabourne), Morne Eloi ( Bellevue Chopin ) and the Soufrière Ridge ( Morne Plat Pays ). From this estuary the river runs south, flows in the lowlands through Perdu Temps Estate and turns more strongly to the east at Geneva Estate and flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Geneva in the Grand Bay .

Its main tributaries are the Perdu Temps River (r, N), Ravine Cacao (l, O), Louis River (r, W), Pichelin River (r, W), Micham River (r, W) and Ravine Jaunisse ( l, N). The estuary can almost be described as a delta with a relatively wide floodplain and several estuary arms, which, however, do not carry water all year round.

Neighboring catchment areas are the river systems of Ravine Sibouli (W), River Gillon (NW), Roseau (Queens River, N), and Rivière Blanche (Dominica) (NE).
