Fous de la Mer is a band in the electronic chillout and ambient genre.

history

Fous de la Mer was founded in 2002 by Marko Bussian and Jean-Charles Vandermynsbrugge.

All of Fous de la Mer's songs were recorded in Ibiza . The band's lead singer is Sol Ruiz de Galarreta; Guest contributions are from Clair Dietrich, Betty Steeles, Özlem Cetin , Adilia da Silva Sousa, Amberay, Atlanta Frith and Moran Beeg.

The mixture of vocals, hand-played bass, guitar and keyboard instruments, combined with the facets of chillout and gentle breakbeats, results in the unmistakable sound of Fous de la Mer. It is a mixture of Balearic dub and deep house.

In 2004 her first studio album Stars & Fishes was released. The songs Never Stop Loving or Conmigo will both be classics of the new chillout. The Fous de la Mer project received international recognition for this and was represented on countless compilations of this genre from then on.

In summer 2006 the second album Ultramar will be released . The title Watersong rises to number 4 on the international iTunes Electronic Charts.

The following album, Ipanema in 2008, pays homage to Joao Gilberto's first Bossa Nova album from the 1950s. Most of the songs were recorded live in the recording studio according to the traditional principle, i.e. vocals, guitar, piano, double bass and percussion.

In 2011 her album Regatta de Bleu was released , the name of which was inspired by the The Police album Reggatta de Blanc .

Her fifth album Cinq was released in 2013 and the album Musiques pour Films in 2017 .

In 2018 the album Seven was released on your own label FDLM Records and a year later the album Cosmic Edition was released in the basic tuning of 432.1 Hz.

Fous de la Mer is regularly featured in the German chillout charts. World's best known are All These Years feat. Clair Dietrich , Conmigo feat. Sol and Watersong feat. Sol . Fous de la Mer released eight LPs and was released on more than 100 compilations.
