Marko Bussian (born December 20, 1970 ) is a German musician , composer , sound engineer and producer who works primarily in the genre of electronic deep house and chillout music.

life and career

Marko Bussian studied from 1992 to 1995 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and graduated as a sound engineer .

During this time he worked and composed for various theaters and musicals as well as for the art radio on the Austrian radio station ORF . He took up classical orchestras such as B. the Swiss Youth Orchestra, the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra , Thai Pei Orchestra and various solo artists and composers such as Francis Burt and Kurt Schwertzigk . As a sound engineer , he also looked after live performances by artists such as Candy Dulfer , Selig , Einstürzende Neubauten , Peter Hammill and Lucilectric .

From 1995 he worked in Frankfurt am Main at Fundemental Music, where he composed and created music and sound design for international audiovisual media productions (commercials, movie trailers) at Pro 7 , ZDF , Mc Cann & Ericson, Saatchi & Saatchi for clients such as Chrysler Jeep, Olympus, Ellen Betrix, Rover, Wilkinson, Mercedes-Benz, BMW Mini Cooper, Deutsche Bank, Mc Neill, at & t, Adtranz, Renault, Ford, Philip Morris, Porsche, etc. He also worked as a sound engineer for Gunther Mende and made radio edits for Frank Farian , Underworld and others.

In 1997, Marko Bussian and Nelson Machado founded the band Glissando Bros. and released A Great Gift Anytime, one of Germany's first deep house records. Glissando Bros. is the first German deep house band to play live on the main stage of the Sonar Festival 2001 in Barcelona.

From 2001 he started the Silicon Funk project , a deep house live band consisting of percussion and drums, with four Frankfurt studio musicians, Paul Schulte (Earth Nation / Skorpions), Jean Charles Vandermynsbrugge, Ben Nemesus ( Senor Coconut ) and Jimmie Wilson , Bass, keyboard and vocals. Silicon Funk played on the main stage of Christopher Street Day at the Victory Column in Berlin. The band was u. a. released on the label Ministry Of Sound .

In 2001 he developed the Colecat project , a fusion of electronica and jazz standards, with Ingmar Hänsch and singer Ingeborg Schmich . It was published on MovinSounds Ibiza.

In 2002 he founded the chill-out band Fous de la Mer with Jean Charles Vandermynsbrugge , which has since been regularly featured in the chillout charts. Above all, “All These Years feat. Clair Dietrich ”,“ Conmigo feat. Sol "and" Watersong feat. Sol". Fous De La Mer released 6 LPs and was released on more than 100 compilations.

Since then he has produced his own projects as well as various artists in the genre of electronic music. The artists include u. a. Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child), Sol Ruiz de Galarreta, Eva Martinez ( Fragma ), Angelique Bianca, Ohm-G, UDO , Christian Burkhardt, Amberay and Paul van Dyk . He also composes music for I-Pad applications and works in the field of audio post-production .

2005 Marko produced Bussian with Wolfgang felt La.Mia.Bocca in the Enigma club in Ibiza. La.Mia.Bocca is the first crossover of ChillOut, Electronica and classical opera arias, sung by Olivia Safe . It was published on Klassikradio Deutschland and Pacha Recordings Ibiza and remixed by Jean-Claude Ades and Trick & Kubic .

From 2006 to 2009 he produced several albums by the artist LaFee together with Bob Arnz and Wolfgang Filz , with whom they won three ECHOs . The albums LaFee and Jetzt especially reached number 1 in the charts of Germany and Austria. Overall, the production for LaFee was awarded a total of 6 gold and 2 platinum.

Marko Bussian has been musical director of the Ibiza Spirit Festival together with Ingmar Hänsch since 2015.
