Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra

The Wiener Jeunesse Orchester ( WJO ) is an Austrian , nationwide youth symphony orchestra , which organizes two to three working phases per year with subsequent concerts and tours.

history

The orchestra was founded in 1987 on the initiative of its first artistic director Manfred Honeck and the musical youth of Austria (Jeunesse).

Herbert Böck has been chief conductor of the Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra since 1989 , which in 1998 won 1st prize in the International Youth Orchestra competition at the World Youth Music Forum in Moscow.

The lecturers are David Seidel for bassoon, Othmar Müller for cello, Adelheid Blovsky-Miller for harp, Helmut Wiener for clarinet and Josef Eidenberger for trumpet.
