Fox Spirit Tales ( Japanese こ の は な 綺 譚 , Konohana Kitan ) is a manga series by Sakuya Amano . It was first published as Konohana-tei Kitan in 2009 and 2010 and has been continued since 2014. The work belongs to the Yuri genre and was adapted as an anime television series in 2017 .

content

The short stories take place in Konohanatei , an onsen inn in a city between the realm of ghosts and humans. It is run by female fox spirits who treat all of their guests, whether spirits or humans, like gods. Each guest brings a new task or challenge, especially for little Yuzu ( ). The fox girl is still new to the inn, inexperienced but full of respect for her colleagues.

Under the title Konohana-tei Kitan , the manga was first published in 2009 and 2010 in the magazine Comic Yuri Hime by Ichijinsha . After the discontinuation, the chapters appeared in two anthologies before the series was continued in Comic Birz magazine in December 2014 . Its publisher Gentosha Comics also publishes the chapters in five anthologies so far.

A German translation of the manga has been published by Tokyopop since June 2018 in four volumes. The publisher also brings out the series in the USA.

Anime

A 12-part anime series based on the manga was created at Studio Lerche in 2017. Directed by Hideki Okamoto and lead author was Takao Yoshioka . The character design was created by Keiko Kurosawa and Atsushi Yokoyama was responsible for the artistic direction .

The 25-minute episodes were broadcast from October 4 to December 20, 2017 on AT-X , Tokyo MX , Kansai TV and BS11 in Japan. The platform Crunchyroll published the anime in parallel outside of Japan, including with English subtitles. Funimation Entertainment released an English dubbed version.

The music was composed by Hajime Kikuchi . The opening credits are Kokoro ni Tsubomi ( コ コ ロ ニ ツ ボ ミ ) by Eufonius and for the credits the song Haru Urara, Kimi to Sakihokoru ( 春 ウ ラ ラ 、 君 ト 咲 キ 誇 ル ) by Konohanatei Nakai no Kai was used.
