Foxy was a five-piece American Latin dance / disco group . It was founded in Miami, Florida in 1976 .

Members

The band consisted of the following members:

  • Ish "Angel" Ledesma (born October 2, 1952 in Cuba): vocals, guitar
  • Richard "Richie" Puente († July 18, 2004): percussion; he was the son of the band leader Tito Puente
  • Charlie Murciano: Keyboard
  • Arnold Paseiro: Bass
  • Joe Galdo: drums

Career

The band was built by producer Henry Stone on his TK Records label as the successor to KC and the Sunshine Band . They achieved their greatest success with the single Get Off from the album of the same name from 1978. The recording reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was number 1 in the US soul charts for two weeks.

With the follow-up single Hot Numbers and the album released with the same title, they achieved another hit in the United States in 1979. After the release of three albums on TK Records , the band broke up again.

Ledesma later formed the band Oxo (1983) and together with his wife Lori L. and his sister-in-law Lezlee Livrano the band Company B (1986).
