Franconian Geographical Society
The Franconian Geographical Society is an association based in Erlangen , which was founded in 1954 in particular by geographers from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg . It has "set itself the task of imparting geographical knowledge and research on university geography to the interested public in Franconia and providing insights into the changing world (s) - on a local, regional and global level." The library includes 60,000 books and 50,000 maps (as of 2012).
The organ of the society are the communications of the Franconian Geographical Society . Count on the board
