Frédéric Lefèvre

Frédéric Lefèvre (born May 7, 1889 in Izé , Mayenne department , † September 11, 1949 in Paris ) was a French journalist , writer , literary critic and literary historian .

life and work

Lefèvre was - together with Maurice Martin du Gard and Jacques Guenne - founder and from 1922 until his death editor-in-chief of the literary weekly magazine Les Nouvelles Littéraires (interrupted from 1940 to 1945), in which his chronicle Une heure avec… , the transcript of the interviews with (until 1940) 387 famous French and non-French authors who were the main attraction for reading (a selection also published as a collective publication).

There is a Society of Friends of Frédéric Lefèvre, which has been publishing a magazine since 1998: La Lettre des Amis de Frédéric Lefèvre . Lefèvre has recently been the subject of a biography and several scientific colloquia.
