Frailea grahliana is a species of plant in the genus Frailea from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Frailea grahliana grows in groups with depressed spherical, green bodies. With a diameter of 3 to 4 centimeters, the bodies reach heights of up to 2.5 centimeters. The up to 15 ribs are divided into barely recognizable cusps. Occasionally there is a yellowish white central spine up to 4 millimeters long, which is darker at the tips. Usually, however, it is missing. The mostly 10 whitish radial spines lie on the surface of the body. They are up to 3.5 millimeters long.

The bright yellow flowers are up to 4 inches long. The fruits have a diameter of up to 6 millimeters.

Distribution and systematics

Frailea grahliana is common in Paraguay and northern Argentina . The first description as Echinocactus grahlianus was published in 1899. Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose placed them in the genus Frailea in 1922 .
