The group for the technical coordination and defense of independent groups and members (English Technical Coordination and Defense of Independent Groups and Members, abbreviation CTDI) was a short-lived group in the European Parliament . The group brought together twelve members from three countries with parties of different orientations. The group stood in the tradition of the group for the technical coordination and defense of the independent groups and parliamentarians from 1979 to 1984.

The parliamentary group was formed in September 1987. The largest member party, the Spanish Centro Democrático y Social , only entered parliament in the by-election in Spain in June 1987 after the country joined on January 1, 1986. In November 1987 the group was dissolved after it no longer had enough members for group status.

The parliamentary group's executive committee consisted of four members, one for each party involved:

  • Marco Pannella
  • Jef Ulburghs
  • Leen van der Waal
  • Eduard Punset i Casals
