Françoise Jaquet

Françoise Jaquet (born March 15, 1957 ) is a Swiss microbiologist and sports official for the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC).

Live and act

Jaquet grew up with three siblings in Friborg as the daughter of a carpenter. She studied biology in Friborg, and did her doctorate in microbiology at the ETH Zurich . She worked for Swissmedic in Bern from January 2010 to March 2020 and has been self-employed since April 2020. Today she lives in Crésuz in the Gruyère region and partly in Friborg.

From 2007 to 2011 she was president of the SAC Moléson section in the Friborg Prealps . Since 2010 she has been a member of the national board of the SAC and was elected first president of the Swiss Alpine Club in June 2013 without a dissenting vote.
