Francesca Donato
Francesca Donato (born August 25, 1969 in Ancona ) is an Italian politician . She was elected to the European Parliament in May 2019 . The Italian is a member of the regional development committee. She is also a member of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.
biography
Donato comes from Ancona from a Venetian family. From 1989 to 1990 she worked for Philip Morris International as an interpreter for foreign clients. In 1996 she completed her law degree at the University of Modena and later practiced in the criminal department, first in Padua (1996–1999) and then in Palermo .
After studying law, Donato also began her forensic work in the crime industry in Padua and specialized in civil and commercial law in Palermo, where she practiced from 2003 to 2012. In 2010 she started studying macroeconomics and working with well-known and influential economists from Italy.
In 2013 Donato founded the non-profit association Progetto Eurexit in the Sicilian capital to support Italy's exit from the single European currency . Since 2016 she has been the sole administrator of the company "Casa surroundings for life", a business that specializes in the retail sale of sanitary ware and furnishings.
In 2014 Donato ran for the European elections as an independent representative of the Northern League . However, she received only 1,431 votes, which meant that an election to the European Parliament failed. From September 2018 Donato was secretary of the Circolo Lega of Prime Minister Matteo Salvini "Palermo - Foro Italico". In 2019, she finally ran again for the European elections on the lists of the movement led by Salvini in the same constituency. This time Donato received 28,067 votes and was thus elected as a MEP .
