Francesca Lo Schiavo

Francesca Lo Schiavo (born January 11, 1948 in Rome ) is an Italian set decorator.

Schiavo began her career in the early 1980s as a set decorator for Italian film productions such as Just Normally Crazy , Fellini's Ship of Dreams and The Name of the Rose .

In her career she was nominated eight times for an Oscar in the category Best Production Design. When she worked on the films The Adventures of Baron Munchausen , Hamlet , Interview with a Vampire , Kundun and Gangs of New York , the nomination remained.

It was not until 2005 that she was able to win the award together with Dante Ferretti for the first time for the production design of Aviator and a second time in 2008, again with Ferretti, for Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd - The Devilish Barber from Fleet Street . The third Oscar followed again in 2012 together with Ferretti for Hugo Cabret .
