A film by Marco Ferreri from 1981 based on a book by Charles Bukowski based on the short story volume "Erections, Ejaculations, Exhibitions and General Tales of Ordinary Madness" from 1972 is completely normal . Bukowski then replied to the film with the short story Naked Madness .
action
After a failed reading at a university, the writer Charles Serking quickly escapes into his own world - that of the bars and dwellings of Los Angeles. His acquaintance with the sexually aggressive Vera ends at the police station. The relationship with his ex-wife Vicky is characterized by paternalism and violence. The acquaintance in a bar with the prostitute Cass inspires him to write again.
The propensity for self-harm and provocation leads to Cass's suicide, and Charles gets drunk when he receives an invitation to New York.
At the funeral, Cass is laid out as a nun. Charles provokes an attending nun by opening the coffin to say goodbye to Cass in his own way.
The end of the film: Charles writes for a pretty young woman on the beach, who shows herself naked for him.
