Francesca Romana Coluzzi (born May 20, 1943 in Tirana , Albania , † July 15, 2009 in Rome ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Coluzzi was born in Albania, where her father had been sent by an institute to fight malaria. She also grew up in Perugia and then in Monticelli. With an early interest in the fine arts, the athletic and powerful Coluzzi dropped out of university to devote herself to film acting when she received an offer from Federico Fellini for eight and a half in 1963 (which then did not result in a contract). She had previously been engaged as a stunt woman and double through the mediation of her cousin, stuntman Biagio Gambini, and received small roles with Lucio Fulci . Her breakthrough came with Pietro Germis Serafino, the philanderer who helped her popularity a lot. In addition to her acting duties, she also worked as an outfitter for several films. Despite her dramatic skills, however, she was best known for her roles as combat-ready women with authority in 1970s sex comedies ; but she also played in more experimental works. After marrying and giving birth to two daughters, she reduced the number of her appearances in the 1980s and was mainly seen in guest roles for television. In 1985 she founded the Roma Teatrale Laboratorio , which later became the Associazione Culturale "Minestrone d'Arte" . She was in charge of this until her death.
