Francesco Giacomelli (born April 16, 1957 ) is a former Italian Nordic skier .

Career

Giacomelli successfully competed at the Italian Ski Jumping Championships and Nordic Combined between 1975 . In 1975 he won the championship title in both ski jumping and combined. In 1976 he won the combination. A year later he won the combined title for the third time and was third in ski jumping behind Lido Tomasi and Ivano Wegher . In the same year he started for Italy at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck . In ski jumping he reached 49th place on the normal hill and 44th place on the large hill. In the individual combination he reached the 31st place. In 1978 he was again successful in the combination at the Italian Championships before he reached the runner-up title in both disciplines in 1979. In 1980 he reached second place in the combination.
