Francesco Massaro (born July 3, 1935 in Padua ) is an Italian film and television director .

Life

In the 1960s, Massaro worked as an assistant director on a number of films, mostly routine genre ware, but also for Pietro Germi . Then he directed himself, starting with the grotesque Il generale dorme in piedi 1972. Always according to his own script, above-average works followed, often comedies , which were also well received by the audience. Particularly noteworthy is the Miracoloni from 1982 , which has not been on display for a long time and therefore enjoys cult status. Occasionally he also wrote for fellow directors; he often worked with Jerry Calà . From the mid-1980s, Massaro worked for television, where he produced successful series ( Pronto soccorso , Provincia segreta ).
