Francis Bernier was born as the third child of his parents in Saint-Rédempteur ( Lévis municipality ), a suburb of the city ​​of Québec in the Canadian province of Québec of the same name . Life -threatening enterovirus hepatitis put his young life at risk, so he barely survived.

At the age of four, his father Gaétan encouraged his youngest son's singing talent and finally motivated Francis, who was just 7 years old, to take part in singing competitions, where the young artist already gained audience experience and initial successes.

Still 7 years old, Francis Bernier first became known to a wider public in May 2005 when he appeared on TVA's TV program L'école des fans . The program introduces children who sing to a piece of music that is accompanied live. In the following summer of 2005, he was selected from 200 children, with six other children, for the production of a Christmas album. At the end of 2006, Francis Bernier and the other protagonists of the Christmas album were finally invited to a Christmas special at the École des fans , where he had the opportunity to sing a duet with Celine Dion . The show reached over 2.6 million viewers and suddenly achieved a high level of popularity for the now 8-year-old Francis Bernier. In September 2007, Francis Bernier released his first solo album Prince d'azur, some of which was specially written for him by renowned Francophone music authors, including a duet with the French chanson singer and songwriter Serge Lama in the piece Prince d'azur .
