Francis Kasaila

Francis Lazaro Kasaila (born October 28, 1968 ) is a Malawian politician who was Foreign Minister between 2016 and 2017.

Life

After Peter Mutharika was elected President of Malawi in 2014, Kasaila initially became Minister for Transport and Public Works in his cabinet. As part of a government reshuffle , he replaced George Chaponda as Foreign Minister on April 7, 2016 , while Jappie Mhango became the new Interior Minister. He held the post of foreign minister until his replacement by Emmanuel Fabiano on July 17, 2017. He then took over the post of labor minister himself.
