Francis Lemaguer

Francis Lemaguer (also Francis Le Maguer , * around 1930) is a French jazz guitarist .

Lemaguer worked for Claude Bolling in 1957 ; from the mid-1960s he founded the formation The Guitars Unlimited , which also included Paul Piguillem , Pierre Cullaz , Raymond Gimenes , Raymond Le Sénéchal , Tony Rallo and Victor Apicella . With the group several LPs for Barclay Records , u. a. Easy Listening - arrangements of well-known jazz standards such as Shiny Stockings , In a Mellow Tone , April in Paris , Take the "A" Train , Sophisticated Lady or Do Nothing till You Hear from Me . The historical recordings of Django Reinhardt was in overdub provided process with additional guitar parts, which was criticized by the press.

In the 1970s, Lemaguer played with Maxim Saury ( Blue and Sentimental ), Claude Bolling's Show Biz Band, and Bill Coleman . In the field of jazz he was involved in 43 recording sessions between 1957 and 1976. Under his own name ( Francis Lemaguer ses Choeurs et son Orchester ) he presented the EP Louez Dieu par la guitare par la trompette et les cymbales sonore 2 .
