Maxim Saury
Maxim Saury (born February 27, 1928 in Enghien-les-Bains , Val-d'Oise ; † November 15, 2012 ) was a French clarinetist , arranger and bandleader of Dixieland Jazz .
Live and act
Maxim Saury began playing traditional jazz in 1949, accompanied Sidney Bechet in 1951 and performed in concerts with Don Byas , Buck Clayton , Roy Eldridge , Peanuts Holland , Albert Nicholas and Bill Coleman . In a duet with Mezz Mezzrow he recorded the titles Rosetta and Wailin 'with Saury in 1955 . He also recorded records with his own orchestra and appeared in several films, such as Bonjour Tristesse and Cherchon's La Femme . Maxim Saury played regularly between 1955 and 1968 at the Paris jazz club Le Caveau de la Huchette . He also worked with Gilbert Leroux .
