Francis Varis

Francis Varis (born February 4, 1957 in Clamart ) is a French accordionist who focuses on gypsy jazz .

Varis completed a musicology degree in Paris. In 1983 he presented the album Cordes et lames with Dominique Cravic ; in the same year he went on tour with Tal Farlow , later with the Brazilian singer Nazaré Pereira , and in 1986 with Lee Konitz ( Medium Rare ). In the 1990s he toured Japan and Canada with Paris-Musette . Together with Jacques Bolognesi , he leads the group BoloVaris , with which he released an album in 1994. He can also be heard on albums by Chantalle Grimm, Patrick Saussois , Romane ( Acoustic spirit ), Georges Moustaki ( Olympia 2000 ) and with Les Primitifs du futur .
