Dominique Cravic

Dominique Cravic (born June 5, 1946 in Dreux ) is a French singer, guitarist and composer.

Cravic completed a master's degree in musicology at the University of Paris and studied classical guitar at the École normal supérieure . Together with Francis Varis he made his record debut in 1983 with Cordes et Lames on the Jamuz label . In 1985 he worked on Juju Doudou with his guitar colleague Didier Roussin . With Roussin, Dominique Pifarély and Yves Torchinsky he formed the quartet The New Blue Four . During this time Cravic met the American comic artist Robert Crumb , who shared his passion for traditional jazz and musette. In 1986 Cravic and Crumb recorded the album Cocktail d'Amour (1987). In the same year he founded with Daniel Huck group Primitifs du futur , which is more than 20 years of musette music dedicated and albums like World Musette presented; He was also active in the Ukulélé Club de Paris , which he founded.

He also met Marc Fosset and Stéphane Grappelli and worked in the field of jazz with Lee Konitz ( Medium Rare 1986), Tal Farlow , Steve Lacy , Larry Coryell and Michel Graillier . At the turn of the millennium he also accompanied Henri Salvador , with whom he also recorded his album Jardin d'Hiver . He also accompanied Olivia Ruiz and Georges Moustaki .
