Dominique Pifarély (* 1957 in Bègles ) is a French jazz violinist.

From the age of six, Pifarély had classical violin training at the Montreuil Conservatory . From 1978 he worked with Didier Levallet , first in the group Swing Strings System , later in a trio with Gérard Marais . In the following years he was a sideman a. a. by Martial Solal , Eddy Louiss , François Jeanneau , Jean-Paul Céléa , Patrice Caratini , François Couturier , Marc Ducret , Patrice Caratini, Mike Westbrook , Mathias Rüegg and Günter Sommer . 1984 worked on Mike Westbrook's Ellington Homage On Duke's Birthday .

Since 1985 Pifarély has worked regularly with the clarinetist Louis Sclavis . With him, guitarist Marc Ducret and bassist Bruno Chevillon , he founded the Sclavis / Pifarély Acoustic Quartet in 1992 . Later he worked partly with his quintet, partly in duo formations with Joachim Kühn , Daniel Humair , Vincent Courtois , Michel Godard , Stefano Battaglia , Rabih Abou-Khalil , Tim Berne , Jean-Paul Céléa , Carlos Zingaro , Hélène Labarrière and others.
