Francisca Aguirre
Francisca Aguirre Benito (born October 27, 1930 in Alicante , Spain , † April 13, 2019 in Madrid , Spain) was a Spanish poet and author .
biography
Aguirre was born in Alicante in 1930; her father was the painter Lorenzo Aguirre. From 1963 until his death in 2014 she was married to the poet Félix Grande. The marriage resulted in a daughter, the poet and essayist Guadalupe Grande (* 1965). Aguirre died in Madrid in April 2019 at the age of 88.
Awards
- For her first volume of poetry, Ithaca , which appeared in 1972, she received the Leopoldo Panero Poetry Award.
- In 2011 she won the National Poetry Prize for her poem Historia de una anatomía .
- Aguirre received the State Prize for Spanish Literature in November 2018.
