Francisco Casabona

Francisco Casabona (born October 16, 1894 in São Paulo , † May 24, 1979 ) was a Brazilian composer .

Casabona studied until 1917 at the Conservatory of Naples with Alessandro Longo and Giovanni Barbieri and taught then twenty-five years at the Conservatory of São Paulo. He was also a co-founder of the Sociedade Sinfônica de São Paulo and director of Rádio Educadora Paulista and also worked as a conductor.

He composed two operas , two symphonies , three symphonic poems , a symphony for nineteen instruments, a piano concerto, chamber music works, piano pieces and songs .
