Francisco Covarrubias

Francisco Covarrubias (* 1775 in Havana ; † 1850 there ) was a Cuban actor , author and dramaturge . He is considered to be the "father of Cuban theater." His influence on Cuban music and musical theater is also significant. He is honored by a hall named after him in the Teatro Nacional de Cuba .
