Francisco Gamarra
Francisco Gamarra (born July 24, 1892 in Melo ; † 1987 ) was a Uruguayan lawyer and politician.
Career
Gamarra was born to Anastasio Gamarra and Cristina Abella. He graduated from the Law and Social Science Faculty of the University of Montevideo. After graduation and doctorate on December 15, 1920, he was employed as a public prosecutor in the Maldonado department from 1921 , and in the same function in the Tacuarembó department from 1924 . After returning to the capital, he was a judge at the criminal court and later at the country's highest court.
From May 16, 1956 to June 6, 1957 he was Uruguay's Foreign Minister .
