Francisco Javier Aramendia Llorente (born December 5, 1986 in Funes / Navarra ) is a Spanish cyclist .
Career
In 2006, Javier Aramendia won the second section of the Vuelta a Vizcaya Basque stage race, which is registered in the Spanish national cycling calendar . In 2007 he received a contract with the UCI Continental Team Orbea-Laukiz FT .
Afterwards, Aramendia drove for the UCI ProTeam Euskaltel-Euskadi from 2008 to 2011 . At Tirreno-Adriatico he finished second overall in the mountain classification after being in a breakaway group on the second stage. In the same year he contested his first Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia and finished in 115th place.
For the 2012 season he moved to the UCI Professional Continental Team Caja Rural . At the Vuelta a España 2013 he won the award for the most combative driver.
