Francisco Ramos de Andrade Neves (born May 31, 1874 in Rio Grande do Sul , † May 15, 1951 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian major general .

Life

Andrade Neves completed an officer training in the army ( Exército Brasileiro ) of the armed forces (Forças Armadas do Brasil) and subsequently found various posts as an officer and staff officer. He became a member of the Promotion Commission on February 20, 1929 and was Chief of Staff of the Provisional Government of President Getúlio Vargas from November 4, 1930 to January 6, 1931 . After his promotion to major general in April 1931, he was commander of the 3rd Military Region (3.ª Região Militar) and served between August 10, 1934 and April 1, 1938, initially as a member of the Supreme Military Tribunal (Superior Tribunal Militar) before he last was from April 1, 1938 to July 25, 1941 President of the Superior Tribunal Militar .
