Franciszek Wachowicz

Franciszek Wachowicz (born March 22, 1916 in Sędziejowice ; † November 27, 1988 ) was a politician of the Polish United Workers' Party PZPR ( Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza ) in the People's Republic of Poland , who was among other things first secretary of the PZPR in the voivodeship between 1955 and 1968 Kielce was.

Life

Wachowicz joined the Polish Socialist Party PPS (Polska Partia Socjalistyczna) as a member in 1937 and was a member of the People's Army ( Armia Ludowa ) during the German occupation of Poland from 1939 to 1945 . After the end of the war, he joined the Polish United Workers' Party PZPR ( Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza ), founded in December 1948, and served as the first secretary of the PZPR in the Kielce Voivodeship between 1955 and 1968 . He was also a member of the Central Committee of the PZPR.

In the election of January 20, 1957, Wachowicz was elected a member of the Sejm and belonged to it until February 1972. Most recently he was in the fifth legislative period from June 27, 1969 to December 22, 1971 both Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Internal Affairs and Secretary of the PZPR parliamentary group . For his services in the People's Republic of Poland, he was awarded the Order Sztandaru Pracy, Second Class and later First Class.
