Franciszek Mikołaj Zabłocki (born January 2, 1752 in Volhynia , † September 10, 1821 in Końskowola ) was a Polish playwright and satirist .

He came from the old Polish noble family of the Zabłockis . In addition to numerous publications of his own, he was the first to translate Molière's comedies and dramas from French into Polish. Zabłocki has written over 50 comedies. Most of his satirical poems were written in the early days.

From 1774 he was active in the national education commission, in 1786 he was appointed minister of education. In 1794 Franciszek Zabłocki took an active part in the Kościuszko uprising , where he was active both in the army and in the "Supreme National Council". The following year he retired from public life and became a priest. Towards the end of his life he sank into melancholy.
