Franco da Rocha , officially Portuguese Município de Franco da Rocha , is a city in the southwest of the state of São Paulo in Brazil . According to an estimate by the IBGE , 149,502 inhabitants lived in Franco da Rocha as of July 1, 2017.
history
A first mention of the advance into the area of Campos do Juquery dates from 1627. Franco da Rocha was a village until the 19th century. Only with the inauguration of the train station on February 1, 1888, did the town and region develop. The construction of a hospital led to a large increase. The first church was built in 1908. Franco da Rocha has been an autonomous municipality since November 30, 1944.
