Violante Placido (born May 1, 1976 in Rome ) is an Italian actress and singer . She is the daughter of actor, director and screenwriter Michele Placido and actress Simonetta Stefanelli .

Career

Placido made her acting debut at the side of her father in Quattro bravi ragazzi in 1993. She played her first important role in 2002 in Sergio Rubini's L'anima gemella . She became known to an international audience in 2010 on the side of George Clooney in The American .

Under the pseudonym Viola , Placido released the album Don't Be Shy in 2006 ... with ten self-written and mostly English-language songs. In the same year she recorded the duet Amore mio infinito with Bugo .
