Simonetta Stefanelli
Simonetta Stefanelli (born November 30, 1954 in Rome ) is an Italian actress, entrepreneur and fashion designer. She is known internationally for her appearance as Apollonia Vitelli-Corleone in the 1972 film The Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola .
life and work
In addition to her role as the wife of Michael Corleone in The Godfather , she played supporting roles in numerous films such as Moses and Three Brothers . Her work includes around two dozen film and television productions.
She had been with the actor Michele Placido since the Italian erotic film from 1975 Peccati in famiglia (in German: Scandal in the family), in which both had a film role, and was married from 1989. She has three adult children with him: the actress Violante Placido (* 1976), the film producer Michelangelo Placido (* 1990) and the actor Brenno Placido (* 1991). The marriage was divorced in 1994.
