Frank is the debut album by British soul singer Amy Winehouse . It was released on October 20, 2003 in the UK and November 20, 2007 in the US on Island Records . The album received mostly positive reviews and was nominated for two Brit Awards , the Ivor Novello Award and the Mercury Music Prize . In Germany, Frank made it to number 9 on the album charts. The album title is an allusion to the American singer Frank Sinatra .
