Since there wasn't much promotion for Back to Black , the album was considered a surprise success. It received 60 platinum awards in 22 countries, four gold awards in four countries and two diamond awards in two countries.

There are different versions of the album, in addition to the regular version for Europe, a version extended by one track for Great Britain and America. The album in Japan had 16 tracks. A limited edition with 15 tracks and a deluxe edition with a total of 18 tracks on 2 CDs were also released in the German-speaking area .

Singles

Rehab

The single was released in October 2006 in the UK and in March 2007 in the US as the first single from the album Back to Black . Rehab refers to Winehouse's refusal to undergo rehab. The song was the album's greatest success and brought Winehouse's international breakthrough. Although it only reached number one in Norway and Hungary and the top 10 (number 7 and number 9) in Great Britain and the USA, Rehab stayed in some hit parades for a long time and was in the top 75 for more than a year in its home country alone. The single won the 2008 Grammy Awards for Single of the Year , Song of the Year, and Best Female Vocal Performance

You Know I'm No Good

The single was released on January 8, 2007 in the UK. It immediately hit the charts and reached number 18. The video for You Know I'm No Good was again directed by Phil Griffin. The video premiere took place on March 3rd on VH1. A second version with Ghostface Killah was produced for the USA . In the ranking of The Best Songs of 2007 of the magazine Entertainment Weekly reached You Know I'm No Good place second

Back to Black

Back to Black is the third release from the album. It was released on April 30, 2007. The video for the single was shot in London near Gibson Gardens. The video premiere took place on March 24th. On November 1, 2007, Winehouse sang the song live during the MTV Europe Music Awards . Her poor health then caused a lot of media coverage.
