Frank Amankwah (born December 29, 1971 in Obuasi ) is a former Ghanaian soccer player . The defender took part with the U-23 national team at the 1992 Summer Olympics; the team won the bronze medal.
Career
Amankwah began his professional career in 1991 with Asante Kotoko . For the 1996/1997 season he moved to the German second division club FC Gütersloh , where he only made seven short appearances. In the following season he played for the Dutch second division club AZ Alkmaar , with whom he rose to the honor division in 1998 . In 1999 he moved to the Greek first division club Iraklis Thessaloniki , where he was under contract for a year. In 2002 he returned to his homeland to the King Faisal Babes and played again with Asante Kotoko from 2003 to 2004.
Between 1992 and 1997 Amankwah played a total of 33 international matches for Ghanaian national teams, for which he scored two goals.
