Frank Bliss

Frank Bliss (born March 21, 1956 in Bonn ) is a German ethnologist and Islamic scholar .

Life

Bliss is Professor of Ethnology at the University of Hamburg and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Development and Peace ( INEF ) at the University of Duisburg-Essen ; He is also the chairman of the Working Group on Development Ethnology ( AGEE ), the association of anthropologists working in development cooperation or researching in this area in Germany. He has been a member of the Innovation Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development ( BMZ ) since 2011 .

Since 1991 he has been co-owner of the development consultancy firm Bliss & Gaesing - Associated Consultants with a focus on the planning, implementation and evaluation of development projects, including for the BMZ, the World Bank , the Asian Development Bank and German and international non-governmental organizations, specializing in socio-economic and socio-cultural issues, gender -Equality in development cooperation and population participation (participation).
